Letter from Allison
It is with a heavy heart that I am typing these words…
BACK-TO-SCHOOL MADNESS IS AROUND THE CORNER.
Yup friends, sad but true. I even saw tons of savvy shopping mommas posting all of the local one cent bargains currently underway on school supplies. While I appreciate a good deal on anything (okay EVERYTHING) to do with school, supplies, or even one cent for that matter…I AM NOT READY TO HEAR IT YET! No, really, I just cannot go there. So, that being said, feel free to message me on our facebook page (facebook.com/AllisonTutoring) with questions or post your great organization ideas, school supply bargains, or anything else remotely back-to-school related because I’m.Not.Ready.To.Write.About.It.Yet.
Okay, moving along to things that currently are MAKING ME SMILE =) Have y’all been in to see just how many students we are currently helping with our Summer Boot Camps? I am blown away with the amount of passion and creativity and dedication my Super Tutors are teaching with this year! I mean seriously, Miss Mallory and Miss Teresa brought in LIVE ANIMALS just to keep these kids excited. Miss Katy comes in unrecognizable half the time in a costume to keep their attention. These teachers really are the best in the business folks, and they are working with YOUR KIDS!
Another super cool thing about to go down is BRICKS4KIDZ. Have your heard or seen this amazing program that combines everyone’s favorite classic toy with cutting-edge STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) concepts to ignite curiosity in girls and boys alike? I am so proud to introduce this program to Allison Tutoring throughout the month of August, and hopefully for many other sessions throughout the school year.
I also wanted to remind everyone about another awesome project that I am fortunate enough to be a part of: THE NEW LAKEWOOD YMCA! I proudly serve on the Board of Managers for the Lakewood-Weingart Family YMCA and am beyond excited to announce the newly opened pool. There are so many wonderful opportunities at this renovated facility for families to get in quality time together (or apart, for that matter!) while exercising. Besides the pool, families can expect the rest of the Y to open in September or October and will include a family room, a teen center, a playground and babysitting, along with several other family-friendly activities and healthy opportunities to get your family moving. Here comes the best news of all…. Emilio Sosa (Executive Director) has just approved $0 sign-up fees for all Allison Tutoring participants…YOU’RE WELCOME!
